  • New Orleans Chamber of Commerce Announces 'Think Local' Campaign, Set to Kick Off Shop Small Season in 2023

New Orleans, October 20, 2023 – The New Orleans Chamber of Commerce is excited to unveil its latest initiative, called 'Think Local,' which supports locally owned businesses and recognizes their impact on our city's economy. The campaign is set to commence on October 30th, just in time to encourage the community to shop, dine, and experience the unique services offered by small businesses during this holiday season.

"Small, locally owned businesses are the backbone of our community. They drive economic growth, foster innovation, and create jobs," said Paige Davis, Director of Development at the New Orleans Chamber. "Think Local' isn't just a marketing campaign; it's a commitment to nurture our local economy through the conscious choices we make as consumers."

‘Think Local’ is rooted in the idea that dollars spent locally have a multiplier effect on our community. Studies have shown that money spent at local businesses recirculates through our local economy 2-4 times more than funds spent with national chain stores or online retailers. Supporting local businesses doesn't just enhance the prosperity of individual entrepreneurs; it strengthens the entire community.

The New Orleans Chamber will promote the 'Think Local' campaign and highlight its members to their collective audience of 24,000+ followers and subscribers. Additionally, the Chamber will partner with other economic and community development organizations to amplify the campaign's reach, underscoring the collaborative spirit of New Orleans.

To further bolster Think Local's impact, the Chamber is arming small business owners with valuable marketing tools and resources to support their own marketing during one of the busiest seasons.
