Sales Manager
Posted: 04/02/2024POSITION SUMMARY: Drive sales and outreach efforts as it relates to private and group sales for Palace Café, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, Bourbon House, Tableau, and Pascal’s Manale. Represents the company with clients and represents sales with operations. Promotes/represents properties and products to local businesses, the tourism industry and social group business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•
Sales Strategy
o
Focus efforts on meeting or exceeding sales targets developed by management and ownership
o
Track sales metrics (calls made, site tours, new customers, etc.) and provide accurate reports and record keeping as required
o
Identify, coordinate, and organize outside sales missions to targets and make direct sales contact via face-to-face contact, phone outreach, etc.
o
Create and maintain effective sales presentations targeting both direct (individuals, corporate clients) and indirect (hotels, DMC’s) customer bases
o
Handle inquiries via web, phone, restaurant
o
Participate in sites tours, menu tastings, booking process, operational updates and client hand off to operations at the event
•
Sales Management
o
Regular outreach to establish new customers
o
Maintain regular communication with prior and/or regular customers
o
Ensure prompt and systematic responses to all customer inquiries and feedback
o
Prepare and follow up on proposals and negotiate contracts
o
Assist in the collection of unpaid client balances
•
Operational Interaction
o
Work with Chefs to develop menus for client tastings, seasonal events and special events
o
Liaison for clients concerning set up, presentation, and timing
o
Work with Management/Ownership to develop new sales tools (i.e. additional products, off-site catering opportunities)
•
BEO Management
o
Handle the client details once Sales has booked the event

Create menu details

Develop the BEO
?
Work with Client on payment and final signature
o
Represent Sales in BEO meetings with Operations Teams
?
Confirm that Banquet Team has the proper details for upcoming events that are 3 weeks out
?
Work with Sales team and Client on missing details
o
After the event, secure billing information and update Triple Seat with post event information ie. Final billing and notes
o
Alert Sales and Upper Management to any issues regarding the event (Sales team to handle checking with satisfaction directly with the client)
•
Company Representation
o
Attend designated functions as a representative of the restaurants
o
Attend sales walk-thrus, FAM meals, appropriate CVB sales meetings
o
Tour restaurants with clients and sales prospects
o
Maintain visibility in the hospitality community and represent company in local business meetings to garner sales clients
o
Create and maintain partnerships with other entities such as: Saenger Theatre, the Cabildo, St. Louis Cathedral, Jesuit Church, and related entities
•
Maintain membership and active participation in industry related organization(s) and remain current on industry trends
•
Garner proper training and certifications in agreed upon organizations related to position, i.e. CCE, CMP
•
General
o
Must attend appropriate and designated meetings
o
Act as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to the restaurants and encourages others to do the same
o
Perform related work and other duties as assigned
o
Must present a positive attitude and professional actions conducive to a business environment towards company, clients and co-workers
REQUIREMENTS:
•
BA in Business or Marketing preferred
•
Minimum of five years of experience in Hospitality Sales and/or Marketing, plus three years of experience in sales
•
Ability to read and write in English with strong verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
•
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, time management, follow-up and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
•
Strong leadership and management skills
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
•
Ability to learn new programs like Triple Seat, Open Table, and Toast
•
Internet skills including use of e-mails (Microsoft Outlook) and information gathering
•
Working knowledge of the daily operations of a professional office, and standard office equipment
•
Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with a customer service orientation
•
Work efficiently and independently with a drive to succeed
•
Be flexible and eager to learn new things
•
Ability to manage confidential business, customer and employee information with tact and discretion
•
Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest issues in a fast-paced environment
•
Willingness to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction

Must be able to maneuver in an office, through restaurants and at outside functions

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, twist, lift, push, pull and grip items when necessary. May occasionally lift up to 30 pounds; push, pull or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Manual dexterity is essential. Must possess finger dexterity to use office equipment adeptly
•
Corporate office hours are generally 9am- 5pm, Monday-Friday. Sales Managers are often required to greet clients at events on nights & weekends.

Must also be able to dependably work a flexible schedule, depending on special event schedule in accordance with operations and adhere to the attendance requirements of the company
•
Must adhere to the established appearance, hygiene and dress code guidelines
•
Ability to adhere to and comply with all rules and regulations of the company
