Historic BK House & Gardens Welcomes New Executive Director

New Orleans, LA, September 2025 – The Historic BK House & Gardens is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Gick as the new Executive Director.

Gick has over 26 years of experience in programs and special event planning for local nonprofits, grant writing, member services, special events, and giving campaigns. She comes to BK House after nine years of serving as the Director of Development for Young Audiences of Louisiana and Young Audiences Charter Schools.

Other professional experience includes key positions at Longue Vue House & Gardens and the Pharmacy Museum.

"This is a very exciting move for me," Gick explains. With a degree in Fine Arts and Art Education, Gick notes, "I am eager to apply my previous work experiences and leverage my educational background into a new role at a location that is so rich in New Orleans history. I look forward to working with the staff and board to continue all efforts to preserve and promote BK House & Gardens.”

Gick replaces Annie Irvin who recently stepped away from her role as Executive Director after serving for the past decade. Sandra Dartus, President of the Board of Trustees, praised Irvin for her accomplishments.  “Under Irvin’s leadership,” said Dartus, “BK House raised nearly $2 million for ongoing restoration and repairs to the nearly 200-year-old historical home.  We wish Annie well in her future endeavors and look forward to a new chapter at BK House as we enter our Bicentennial year.”
