    About Us

Southeast Louisiana's oldest continuously family owned and operated Full service Janitorial & window cleaning Company.
3rd Generation Family Owned and Operated.

In 1910, two immigrants from the Ukraine, Daniel Kurica and John Zazulak settled in New Orleans and saw a need for a window cleaning company. They were so proud of their new nationality that they named their new company National Window Cleaning. They even painted all of their vehicles and equipment red, white, and blue. Their company survived the Great Depression and two World Wars.

With the help of their two sons, Philip Kurica and John Zazulak Jr. the company grew and prospered. National Window Cleaning began to offer more services in addition to window cleaning, so Philip and John Jr. decided to form National Building Services and Maintenance, Inc in 1962 with emphasis on commercial janitorial service. In 1973, John Zazulak decided to retire and sold his interest in National to Walter Kattengell Jr. In 1986, National Window Cleaning merged its operation completely into National Building Services and that makes National the oldest continuing operating cleaning service in the South. Through all the years of operation, there has only been four presidents of National. Daniel Kurica, Philip Kurica, Water Kattengell and upon Mr. Kattengells death in 2015, his son Donald Kattengell became president.
