CELEBRATE THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF ICONIC COOKBOOK TALK ABOUT GOOD AT THE SOUTHERN FOOD & BEVERAGE MUSEUM: New Exhibit Set To Open In Conjunction With The 4th Annual Made in Louisiana Culinary Festival 40 Years of Talk About Good The first interactive exhibit at The Southern Food & Beverage Museum (SoFAB), “40 Years of Talk About Good” will debut on Saturday, December 7, 2019, celebrating Talk About Good II – the beloved cookbook showcasing the best of Cajun culture, featuring classic artwork from the legendary George Rodrigue. The exhibit will create an immersive experience for museum guests, featuring the stories of the women who created the cookbook, the tools and equipment popular during the late 70’s and early 80’s, interactive videos on Cajun cooking techniques, and food products popular during that era. According to SoFAB’s President/CEO Brent Rosen: “In the future, when people want to know, ‘how did people in Louisiana cook and eat in the late 1900’s?’ they will find the answers in Talk About Good II.” The exhibit will run through mid-January 2020. Festival guests can look forward to a multitude of innovative, local products such as craft beers, pickles, sauces, baked goods, craft cocktails, and more. Advance tickets are priced at $12 for SoFAB members and $15 for non-members. Tickets will be available at the door for $20. For more information and to purchase tickets in advance, please visit https://natfab.org/events/19-12-07-made-in-louisiana Paul Freedman Community Cookbooks Talk & Book Signing As part of the Junior League exhibit celebrating the 40th anniversary of Talk About Good II, SoFAB will host a conversation and book signing with Paul Freedman – Yale professor and author of American Cuisine – on the importance of community cookbooks to America’s Culinary Landscape. In addition to Talk About Good II, SoFAB and Freedman will be honoring the book in the context of community cookbooks, displaying the original paintings of George Rodrigue that appear throughout the cookbook. Set to take place on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 2PM-3:30PM at SoFAB, attendees can expect to taste a variety of goodies found in various community cookbooks.
