The Albert and Tina Small Center for Collaborative Design at Tulane School of Architecture presents Sites of Resistance, an exhibition exploring New Orleans’ historical role as a site of intense organizing, legal strategy, labor struggle and civil rights activism. The exhibit features two wall scale maps of New Orleans, highlighting sites of protest and resistance from 1863 to present, alongside narratives that explore pivotal moments and movements in the city’s history. A monthly series of panels, talks and trainings elevate oral histories of local movements; grounding recent struggles and new activists in the long legacies of resistance that surround and inform their experiences, often unknowingly. Sites of Resistance will be on display at the Small Center through February 5, 2018. More information: http://small.tulane.edu/project/sites-of-resistance/
