WHAT/WHEN: In partnership with the 2023 Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival, 3rd Block Depot Kitchen & Bar will be hosting Books & Beignets with Gary Richards, Professor of English at the University of Mary Washington, on Saturday, March 25 from 8:30 - 9:45 p.m. This year's book club discussion will focus on one of the most important 19th-century U.S. writers, Kate Chopin, featuring six stories: "Beyond the Bayou," "At the 'Cadian Ball," "La Belle Zoraïde," "Athénaïse," "A Matter of Prejudice," and "Nég Créol." The books are available in Penguin's Bayou Folk and A Night in Acadie (ISBN: 978-0140436815) and can also be easily found on the Internet.
