Join LifeCity and the Regional Sustainability Committee to review our State of Sustainability Report for 2026. This report includes an overview of sustainability achievements and challenges in categories such as water, energy, housing, workforce development and more, while providing a road map for recommended next steps.
Our keynote speaker will be Dodie (Doratha) Smith-Simmons, a prominent New Orleans civil rights leader, known for her pivotal role in the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), training and participating in the 1961 Freedom Rides, organizing sit-ins and boycotts, and later becoming a key figure at Preservation Hall, connecting activism with New Orleans' rich cultural heritage.
We'll also hear from the Regional Sustainability Committee leaders, including the Data Center and more.
Sustainability cannot exist without equity. And equity cannot exist without sustainability.
Please join us to get a sense of how far we've come in terms of sustainable development — and how far we still need to go.
This is the most comprehensive report for the City of New Orleans yet to be made - and it reveals just how important it is that we all work together to build a stronger, healthier community for all.
Lunch will be provided. A second line will be celebrated. And we will all sing together - as we envision a better future for everyone.
LifeCity wants to thank the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans & Company, and the EnergySmart Program for supporting this effort!
