Join the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce in celebrating the Grand Opening of Brothers Empowered to Teach
At the core, BE2T is a teacher recruitment, development and placement program that exposes young men and women to working with kids through a methodical and intentional fellowship program that allows them to be fully developed as professionals not merely educators.
It has now been a decade since we first launched BE2T. Since 2014, BE2T has placed over 175 fellows through the program. 90 percent of our fellows finish the program and graduate within 5 years. In addition, 80 percent of our fellows teach for at least 3 years. We have a lot of work ahead but we also have a lot to celebrate.
BE2T will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a gala on November 1, 2024 at the Ace Hotel now called The Barnett hotel in downtown New Orleans. The gala will be launched with a community engagement day hosted by TED fellows: Keenan Scott, German Santillan and Antoinette Carol followed by an evening of dinner, live entertainment, and an awards ceremony honoring leaders from the education community who have contributed to advancing BE2T’s mission over the past decade. It will raise funds to support the expansion and further innovation of our fellowship programs to develop more Black teachers and positively alter the life trajectories of more students.
We will serve a variety of pastries and fruit along with coffee, water and fruit juices.
