MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP
This position will assist the Director of Events & Membership Development in membership services and database management, as well as the Communications Director with social media strategy and content development.
Duties
- Keep Chamber’s membership database current by collecting, inputting, and updating all membership data. This includes revised contact information from returned mailings, revised member application forms, and general correspondence from members.
- Run membership profiles for monthly retention calls
- Assist with membership retention and development initiatives, such as retention calls to members
- Print letters and put together packets to mail to new and renewing members
- Attend a variety of Chamber meetings and events
- Conduct market research of potential members
- Assist in the development of a weekly social media content calendar for Chamber’s facebook, instagram, linkedin, and twitter
- Disseminate information across social networks
- Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns by drafting captions and creating graphics
- Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns
- Day-today digital marketing support including the development of copywriting for our web pages, advertisements, and emails where needed
- Occasional photography at events
- May also be asked to assist with event planning and preparation as time allows
Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Graphic design experience is a plus
- Ability to work and maintain productivity with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Interest in business, event planning, business marketing or marketing research is a plus
- Ability to challenge upward and offer new ideas, concepts, solutions, etc.
- Must have the ability to foster the values of member relations
- Exceptional people skills with an outgoing personality
- High level of professionalism
