DESCRIPTION:NOAGE in TV Land!\n\n\n\nA Fundraiser Gala for New Orleans Advocates for LGBTQ+ Elders New Orleans Advocates for LGBTQ+ Elders (NOAGE) will be hosting a fundraising gala on Friday\, November 18\, 7-10PM\, at Audubon Nature Institute's Cajun Ballroom. Tickets are available now at noage.kindful.com/e/2022gala.\n\n\n\nThe last NOAGE gala sold out in advance\, so be sure to get your tickets today! There will be music\, dancing\, food\, an open bar\, and all the great fun you've come to expect from our annual gala. This year's theme is "NOAGE in TV Land!" Dress as your favorite character(s) from TV\, Netflix\, HBOMax\, Disney+\, etc. Stranger Things\, Drag Race\, Game of Thrones\, Schitt's Creek...the possibilities are endless\, so show us what you've been watching! (Costuming is encouraged\, but not required. Business casual is OK too!)\n\n\n\nThe gala will also feature the 2022 NOAGE Awards. This year's award-winners include Misti Gaither (Trailblazer Award) and Noel Twilbeck (Community Impact Award). Noel Twilbeck has been working on behalf of the local LGBTQ+ community since the 1980s. He is the CEO of CrescentCare (formerly known as NO/AIDS Task Force). He began as a volunteer with the organization in 1987\, was hired as Director of Volunteer Services in 1989\, and became Executive Director in 1999. Misti Gaither has worked as an activist\, advocate\, and fundraiser for the local LGBTQ+ community for many years\, supporting a wide range of organizations\, including Food for Friends\, PFLAG\, Big Easy Animal Rescue\, Anna's Place\, and countless others.\n\n\n\nSponsors for this year's gala include: Galloway Law Firm\, CrescentCare\, AARP Louisiana\, LCMC Health\, Home Instead\, Ochsner Pride\, Stonewall Sports\, Lake Lawn Metairie\, the John Burton Harter Foundation\, the Big Easy Sisters\, Joey Walker (R ve Realtors)\, Jason Waguespack and Jeffery Morgan\, David Bernard and Charles Urstadt\, Maison Vie\, Sir Speedy\, Louisiana Assistive Technologies Access Network (LATAN)\, St. Bernard Veterinary Hospital\, and Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI). NOAGE hosts regular socialization and educational events for LGBTQ+ older adults\, including potlucks\, movie nights\, a walking group\, a book club\, coffee talks\, support groups\, and others. NOAGE also works to increase the cultural competency of healthcare and other service providers who work with seniors through trainings\, workshops\, and conferences. NOAGE is committed to ensuring that all LGBTQ+ older adults in the New Orleans metro area can live their best possible lives with the dignity\, respect\, and good health that they deserve. NOAGE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
