DESCRIPTION:Jewel of the South\, the French Quarter gem co-owned by Chris Hannah and Nick Detrich\, is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a special evening of cocktails and bites downstairs in The Grove. The evening will benefit Jewel's server and bartender Ryan Joyce\, who recently suffered severe injuries from a bicycle accident. According to Detrich\, "We feel for Ryan and his family and want to help him with his recovery the best we can. Moving forward\, each anniversary at Jewel of the South will benefit a fellow hospitality worker in need." From 8PM   Midnight\, 100 percent of all bar sales will go toward Ryan's recovery fund. Guests can enjoy Hannah and Detrich's menu of New Orleans classic cocktails   both known and obscure   available at specialty prices of $8 and $9 each. Revelers can also enjoy specialty bar snacks from Executive Chef Philip Whitmarsh including Gougeres with chicken parfait and prunes\; Smoked Hock Croquettes with beer mustard and Welsh rarebit   a savory melted cheese sauce\; and Scotch Egg with piccalilli\, as well as charcuterie.
