DESCRIPTION:Get on Board is a single day workshop providing knowledge and skills to current board and staff members and those that wish to be placed on a nonprofit board at the conclusion of the training.\n\nThrough engaging presentations from nonprofit experts and interactive role-playing\, participants learn a board member's responsibilities and how these responsibilities relate to others within the organization. Get on Board workshop topics include:\n\n\n	financial policies and fiduciary duties\n	legal considerations\n	meeting and committee management\n	strategic planning\n	effective leadership development\n	fundraising\n\n\nParticipants will gain increased competence and confidence to develop and maintain a well-run nonprofit organization.\n\nRegistration is $200 for members and non-member "early birds" who register online through August 16th. After this date\, registration is $275 for non-members.\n\nPayment for the event must be received on or before September 6\, 2019. If you are paying for more than one attendee and would like to send a check\, please email the names of your attendees to getonboard@jlno.org and mail or drop-off a check in the appropriate amount to JLNO's Headquarters at 4319 Carondelet Street\, New Orleans\, LA 70115.\n\nThe registration fee includes engaging presentations from and interactive role-playing with nonprofit experts along with light breakfast and lunch\, snacks\, and beverages.
