Getting Back to Business in New Orleans; JLV Construction's COVID-19 Antibody Testing
JLV Construction is a Home Builder in New Orleans that began in 2005, after seeing a need for trustworthy contractors after Hurricane Katrina. Today, JLV Construction is now navigating a ‘new normal’ with the COVID-19 pandemic. As the ‘Stay at Home’ order comes to an end, business owners are looking to get back to work. One owner is planning his operations with the COVID-19 safety measures at the forefront.
“As a city, New Orleans is extremely social and outgoing. It is a part of what makes us unique. I know the way we operate must adapt to all the changes brought on by the Coronavirus,” says JLV owner, Jose Villeda. “We had to decide; either we find a way to operate or we close. We decided to find a new way to operate and put new safety measures in place in our office and on each job site.”
Mr. Villeda cut back operations when the stay at home order was released and the coronavirus numbers began to rise. This caused a hardship on employees and his clients alike. Homeowners that were looking forward to the day that they would move into their new homes, were now delayed. The news remained flooded with the hardships of the economy and no long-term answers.
“This week, we are offering the COVID-19 Antibody testing to our entire team. This is not only beneficial for each person on our team, but also to their families, each of our customers and our community.”
As the landscape of the economy and society changes – health and safety remain of the utmost importance. JLV Construction hopes in sharing their safety procedures and experiences that it will assist other business owners in moving forward.
“I want to share what we are doing with all of the New Orleans community. There are safe ways to operate. We will continue to adapt to any changes or health updates as they come. I am looking forward to New Orleans reopening. We’re ready.”
