Baton Rouge, La. – Louisiana Healthcare Connections and New Orleans-based non-profit Sankofa will partner in an Eat for LIFE! event on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10 a.m. – noon, at the Sankofa Community Development Center at 5200 Dauphine St. in New Orleans. The free community event will feature: • Health screenings • Nutritional education • Cooking demonstrations • Special giveaways • Healthy food and beverages • Healthy activities for attendees of all ages The event will also celebrate the SNAP/EBT matching program at Sankofa’s Fresh Stop Markets in New Orleans. Sponsored by Louisiana Healthcare Connections, the program offers a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $10 in purchases made with a SNAP/EBT card at any of Sankofa’s Fresh Stop Markets.
