The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Gulf Coast Chapter will host its 5th annual fundraising golf benefit on Saturday, April 1 at Lakewood Golf Club in New Orleans. Proceeds from the event will benefit the CMAA Gulf Coast Chapter scholarship fund. While hundreds of fundraising golf events are held in the New Orleans area each year, the format of this event will be more like a New Orleans food festival with a golf game squeezed in. New Orleans-style music will be provided and all golfers will have a chance to win a new car on the “Hole-in-One” hole played during the event. The event will include lunch at 11 a.m., 18-hole scramble, and an awards ceremony/New Orleans-style crawfish boil from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m. Organized by the CMAA Gulf Coast Chapter, the golf benefit is part of the annual campaign to raise funds to support scholarships to college students pursuing degrees in construction management, engineering, architecture, or other degrees leading to a career in construction management or project management. The CMAA Gulf Coast Chapter has awarded scholarships annually since 2012.
