Budgeting For Success
"If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else" - Yogi Berra
Budgeting for Success is a presentation from the Society of Louisiana CPAs and represented by local CPAs who listen and help their clients build stronger companies. Effective budgeting is a collaborative process that enables business owners to better understand today’s financial performance and achieve future goals. This session will help business owners understand the importance of budgeting and create budgets that let you manage, monitor, and achieve your goals. Our session plans to address the following questions and provide interactive discussions on practical issues regarding the budgeting process.- I prepare budgets today, but how can I get better results? Creating the budget is one thing; understanding and using the budget is another. Budgets can be used in other business processes (risk assessment, bank lending, benchmarking, forecasting, return on investment, etc.).
- How often should I prepare and review my budget? Budgets should contain appropriate details, yet be simple enough to use on frequent basis.
- Who should be involved in the budgeting process? Budgeting is a collaborative process that should involve all stakeholders at appropriate levels. CPAs and outside advisors can provide useful insight and accountability in the budgeting process.
